Nestled in the heart of one of Australia’s most diverse and richest food bowls on the Atherton Tablelands is Skybury Tropical Plantation – home to Skybury Coffee and Papaya. 10 minutes out of the popular coffee growing region Mareeba, this family owned plantation has been growing world renowned coffee and tropical fruit for the past 30 years.

Looking to expand production by 30% in 2017, Skybury Coffee was in need of a more environmentally friendly forklift solution for their packing shed. The Townsville branch new the perfect alternative to their diesel forklift- the Jungheinrich EFG 216kn.

More environmentally friendly than a diesel forklift, the Jungheinrich EFG 216kn is not only quieter than its alternative, it doesn’t generate or release any harmful emissions into the air. This is an important for Skybury as the truck will predominately be working indoors amongst fresh food and staff. With no emissions, the stock and staff are safe from the fumes.

The N series counterbalance forklift with a 1.6 tonne lift capabilities is a part of Jungheinrich’s cost-effective economy range. Its compact design makes the truck the perfect solution where maximum maneuverability is required within confined spaces.

Energy consumption is significantly reduced by using the most advanced 3-phase AC technology. This allows for significantly longer operation per battery time, important as Skybury’s production facilities continue to increase.

Overal, Skybury are pleased with their new addition. They have been impressed with the quiet, pollution free environment and also the excellent visibility through the container mast.
